Elizabeth A. Gerbracht, age 84 sadly passed away Tuesday,
January 30, 2024, while in hospice at the Cleveland Clinic with
her daughter and son by her side.
Elizabeth (Betty Ann) was born on July 26, 1939, to Elizabeth and Stephen Bodnar
in Cleveland Ohio. She grew up on the East Side of Cleveland, went to
Regina High School and completed her Bachelor of Arts at Ursuline College.
Betty Ann was a woman committed to her faith first, raised her 2 children and
went on to marry the love of her life, Richard E. Gerbracht in 1988. She was a
dedicated parishioner of St. Mary’s of Hudson for over 25 years. She spent her,
life giving back to the church-from volunteering in the different ministries at
St. Clare, to serving as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s, to establishing herself,
as part of the Catholic community in which she felt most at home and created
long lasting relationships.
Her best years were spent with her life partner, whom she fondly called “Dickie”.
She was a devoted wife committed to his health and wellness. They shared so
many similar beliefs which contributed to the longevity of their marriage, and the one
identical value they had in common was their love for Our Lord. They were each,
other’s rock to lean on and after his passing in November of 2021; we believe,
she really missed having him in her life and living without him seemed meaningless.
Survivors include her children: Leslie (Joe) Mongelluzzi, Richard (Lisa) Cuva, grandchildren,
Joey, Rocky and Leo Mongelluzzi, 7 stepchildren; 19 step grand children and
7 step great grandchildren.
Preceding Elizabeth in death are her parents: Elizabeth and Stephen Bodnar,
and late husband Richard E Gerbracht.
The family is holding a mass of Christian Burial Saturday February 10, 2024, 10:00am at
St Mary’s in Hudson, 340 N Main Street, Hudson, Ohio 44236. If you are considering a
donation, the family suggests St. Mary’s Church Hudson
