Obituary

FRANK F. FIORILLI, age 94, who will be forever in our hearts, passed away on


Friday, August 23, 2019. He had a peaceful and blessed journey to his eternal


home where he is now reunited with his loving wife Mary, of 68 years, his


daughter Sharon, his six brothers, John, Renzo, Angelo, Henry, Michael and Fred,


his sister Assuntine and the Savior he so loved. Frank was a resident of Little Italy


Cleveland OH for 86 years and a lifelong parishioner and servant to Holy Rosary Church,


which included being a server, reader, Eucharistic Minister, choir member and team member


in RCIA.  He and his wife Mary also did general cleaning around the church to prepare for the


weekend liturgies.  He carried the processional cross leading the Feast of the Assumption Procession


for over 70 years. He believed that the procession offered him an opportunity to truly identify himself


with the person of Jesus and our Blessed Mother.  In 1970 he began providing tours of the Little Italy


neighborhood to visitors of all ages and from many destinations and in 2016, he was honored by the


City of Cleveland for his service to the Little Italy neighborhood.  He served in the U.S. Navy from


1943-1946, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, served on boards at the Alta House, Little Italy


Redevelopment, University Circle, Abington Arms and the Parish Pastoral Council at Holy Rosary Church.


After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Social Science at John Carroll University in 1960, he was a teacher


at St. Catherine's and St. Ann's Catholic Schools from 1960-1971 where he taught Religion and Social Studies.


His final career choice was with the Department of Human Services for the County of Cuyahoga.


He was a loving father of Francine Nicolanti (David), Barbara Hlafka (Steve), Janice White (Tom deceased)


and Sharon (deceased), dear grandfather of Lori Nicolanti, Dave Nicolanti (Te'sa), Katie White and


Tommy White and great-grandfather of Barrett, Kora and Logan, dear uncle and great uncle to many.


He was the son of the late Carmen and Antoinette (DiDonato). THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS WEDNESDAY,


AUGUST 28TH FROM 3:00-8:00PM AT HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 12021 MAYFIELD ROAD, CLEVELAND, OH 44106.


SERVICES ON THURSDAY AT HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, VISITATION 9:00-10:30AM, SAYING OF THE ROSARY


AND WORDS OF REMEMBERANCE 10:30AM, FOLLOWED BY MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL AT 11:00AM.


Interment Lakeview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his memory to Holy Rosary Church or


Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH  44110.
