Obituary

YOLANDA G. BOTTIGGI (nee Tirabasso) age 100; passed away


July 19, 2021. Beloved wife of the late David; loving mother of


William (deceased) and Patricia Bottiggi (of New Zealand). Dearest


Daughter of the late Angelo and Annatonia Tirabasso. Loving sister of


Ann Zirke, Angela Lamonica and the following deceased Carl Tirabasso ,


Jane DePalma, Clara Bizjak, Mary Antonucci and Dominic Tirabasso.


Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. And extended family in New Zealand.

Yolanda was a life and charter member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary to


Post 5799 for 60 years. She retired from Ameritrust (formerly Cleveland


Trust Co.) after 18 years of service. She was also a member of Little


Italy Retires for many years.

Yolanda loved baseball and went with a sister to New York several times


to watch the Indians play. She also got to see a World Series Game in 1948


and another in 1954.Yolanda loved to bowl and was in an "All Women's


League" for many years. After retirement she and Dave bowled in a all


"Couples League" for 25 years.

Both Yolanda and David loved to travel. While the children were growing up


They traveled to many different States each year. After retirement they both


Traveled to Europe and Italy to visit family and tour. In addition, they went on


a "Veterans Tour" and visited the David served in during WWII.


Yolanda became an avid letter writer during WWII, having two brothers,


Her fiancé and friends in the military. She would average 7-10 letters


a week, handwriting her fiancé letters every day and using part of her


lunch period to type letters to everyone else.

After her husband passed away in, she joined a school group program


where students wrote letters to older people. She answered every letter


she received for 6 years. The letters came from 1st, 3rd, to 8th graders for four years.


It was interesting to Yolanda because she did not have any grandchildren


of her own. The students loved her letters and said they were going to keep them.

Yolanda's love of the theater took her to Broadway on show tours for many years.


She lived in Wickliffe for 50 years before moving to Euclid in 2006.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Thursday July 22, at Holy Rosary Church,


12021 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, where the family will receive friends 10:00am


until time of Mass. Interment Lake View Cemetery.
