Carmelita S. Gerome passed away on January 28, 2026 at the age of 80. She was born on December 19, 1945, the oldest daughter of the late Dominic and Lena (nee Farinacci). She was a dear sister to the late Jo-Ann and late Dominic II (Sue), and a devoted Zia to Dominic III (Shane) and great nieces Ashley and Emily. A lifelong Clevelander, Carmelita’s love for her city never faded. She was a class of ‘63 graduate from Notre Dame Academy, later working at Hickok Waekon for 40 years before retiring in 2015.
Known for her first-class sense of style, she found great joy in shopping and was always on the lookout for new treasures to add to her closet. An avid theatre lover, Carm rarely passed up an opportunity to see a show. She also loved to travel, taking every chance to delight in new places and experiences. She was deeply social and loved spending time with people. Her calendar was always full with community events, bus trips, club activities and casino visits. Most of all, Carmelita cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Moments filled with love, laughter, and connection meant everything to her. She will be fondly remembered for her love of life, her joyous laugh, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Wednesday February 4, at Holy Redeemer Church, 15712 Kipling Ave., Cleveland (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH); Interment Knollwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at THE VITANTONIO-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME 2110 MURRAY HILL RD. CLEVELAND,TUESDAY FEBRUARY 3rd, 3 to 7 PM.
