James A. Bass “Jim” of Richmond Heights, born on July 23, 1956,
passed away on January 10, 2025, peacefully at home. Jim grew up in Collinwood, OH
and was a 1974 graduate of Collinwood High School. Jim then went on to become the
long-time owner of the Auto Company where he was well-known for his devotion to working
meticulously on cars and motorcycles, restoring them to pristine condition. Jim’s shop was
more than just a business, but a gathering place where he made many life-long friendships “by accident”.
Life then led him to join his wife at Diamond’s Flowers where the two of them built a business together
that is still flourishing to this day. No matter where you knew him from, Jim will be remembered for his
kindheartedness and dedication to many. Above all, Jim adored his wife and was extremely proud of his children.
Even in his poor health, Jim found joy in being at home surrounded by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Roseana (nee Grande). He was the proud father of Jimmy and Nicole
(fiancé Alex Hammer); loving son of the late Albert and Marion Basmagy; devoted son-in-law of Concetta Grande;
dear brother-in-law of the late Domenic Grande (Martha); caring uncle of Nicholas (Nichole), Domenico Jr., Michael
and generous friend to many. Prayers of Christian Burial 11:00 am, Friday January 17, at the
Funeral Home. Entombment: All Souls Cemetery. The family will
receive friends at THE VITANTONIO-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME
