Maria Elaine “Mimi” Nastasi
November 20, 1949 – December 12, 2025
Maria Elaine Nastasi, lovingly known to all as “Mimi,” passed away on December 12, 2025.
Born on November 20, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, Maria was the cherished daughter of
Antonio and Frances (Georgian) Nastasi, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mimi was the heart of her family. She was strong, steady, and endlessly devoted; the kind of
person who showed up without being asked, gave without hesitation, and loved without limits.
Always ready to lend a helping hand, Mimi took care of so many throughout her life, never expecting
anything in return. Her family meant everything to her, and she made sure everyone around her felt that love.
Before retiring, a time in her life she greatly looked forward to, Mimi worked in accounting for
Venture Lighting in Solon, Ohio. Prior to that, she worked at Campus Drug in Cleveland Heights.
She began her working career, and spent the majority of it, at Drexler’s Drug in Cleveland,
where her dedication and work ethic were well known.
Mimi had a deep love for cooking and baking, especially when it brought her family together.
Easter gatherings were marked by making Pane di Pasqua (Easter bread), and Christmas meant
her famous Cantucci (holiday biscotti). While everyone loved her treats, it was never really about the food,
it was about time together, laughter around the table, and the traditions she so lovingly kept alive.
She is survived by her brother Joseph Nastasi (Theresa); her nephew Joseph Nastasi (Gene);
her niece Kelly Bailey (Art); great-niece Anna; great-nephew AJ; her nephew Anthony Nastasi (Andria);
great-niece Giavanna; great-nephews Vincent and Dominic; her nephew Nicholas Nastasi; great-niece Ellianna;
and many, many other dear cousins, family members, and close friends who were blessed to know her.
Mimi, you will be missed beyond words. We still can’t believe you are no longer with us, and our hearts
are heavy as we try to accept it. You were such a steady presence, filled with warmth, wisdom, and toughness.
You were strong in every sense of the word, never backing down, always standing your ground, and somehow
holding everyone together at the same time. And of course, if we didn’t behave, you always had that wooden
spoon in hand, loving, firm, and ready to crack the whip!
You taught us so much through the way you lived, but above all, you taught us that family was absolutely everything.
We promise to carry that lesson forward and keep it alive. There is still so much we want to say, so much we
wish we could share with you. We already miss you more than words can express. Thank you for your strength,
your love, and your unforgettable spirit. Rest in peace, our beautiful angel.
Mimi was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. We miss you so much already, but we know you are in good hands.
We love you, Mimi. You may no longer be physically here, but your presence lives on in all of us. We’ll miss you around
the table this Christmas, but we know you’ll be watching, making sure we’re all in line
