It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Robert Andrew Ziegler (“Bob” & “Wolfman”), an extraordinary
man who touched the lives of so many. Bob peacefully left this
world on January 27, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family
and his wife of 47 years, Debra Ziegler (Travers). Though he has
left us heartbroken, we take solace in knowing that he lived a life
filled with love, compassion, and countless cherished memories.
Bob was a saved man and was filled with the spirit of the Lord and
we can take comfort in knowing that we will see him again one day.
Born on June 3, 1952 in Chardon, Ohio, Bob was the loving son and
was preceded in passing by Ann and Barney Ziegler. He lived his life
as an East-Sider in the communities of Chardon, Kirtland and
Willoughby Hills, Ohio. Bob is survived by his 4 boys and their spouses,
Kevin (Jessica) Ziegler, Jon (Lindsay) Ziegler, Joseph (Korey) Ziegler-Shrum,
and Eric (Hope) Ziegler; his Grandchildren Jackson, Sabrina, Henry, Reese,
Lucy, Mya, and Nova; his mother and father in law Melvin (Gail) Travers,
his sister Bernadine (Douglas) Okonek - children Melanie (Steve) Spicer
and Victoria (Markus) Steinberger, and brother / sister in laws Mark (Karen) Travers,
Melvin (June) Travers, Cheryl (Steve) Gaspar, John (Patty) Travers, and
Michael (Royleen) Travers; Best friend David Kirk. Bob was loved by a
large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him
so much. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and gracious grandfather,
always putting the needs of his loved ones before his own. His kindness, patience,
and selflessness were unmatched, and he took great pride in nurturing strong bonds
with his family and friends.
Bob was a jack of all trades, recently retiring from Component Repair Technologies
in which he repaired parts for airplanes and mentored so many people while there.
He was an amazing handyman and loved working with his hands. His memory will
continue to live on for decades in his design and the things he has built for so many people.
Bob’s zest for life was infectious, and he had a unique gift for bringing joy and a smile to
those around him. Bob loved to travel, loved the sun and the beach, and loved spending time
with his wife and family every chance he got.
In memory of Bob and an opportunity to share stories about him, his loved ones invite friends
and family to join them between the hours of 2-7pm for an Open house celebration of Bob’s life on
Sunday February 25, 2024 at Pine Ridge Country Club located in Wickliffe, Ohio. Together, we will
honor his memory and bringing joy to his name from the knowledge that his legacy
will endure in our hearts forever. Bob had requested to be cremated and it is planned to spread his
ashes in a place he held dear to his heart at a later date.
Although Bob’s physical presence may be gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may we find solace in the cherished memories he has left behind.
